上海通信vol.2／Shanghai News vol.2

前回に引き続き、上海通信（アート&デザイン編）です。

実は、上海の目的はアート＆デザイン関係者との意見交換でした。

まず、訪れたのはoffice339を運営されている日本人ディテクターの鳥本氏でした。

office339は、上海を拠点とした、現代アートを扱う上海では唯一の日系アートマネージメント事務所です。上海万博公園彫刻プロジェクト-日本プログラム や UNIQLO SHANGHAI POP CULTURE PROJECTにも関わられており、上海で現代アート関係のベンチャー企業代表ですね。

そんなoffice339は、ギャラリーを兼ねたオフィスのある威海路696にあります。

威海路696は、上海の繁華街、南京西路から徒歩圏内、かつてはイギリス租界であったそうです。アヘン巣窟であったといわれるその敷地には、今では若手アーティストたちのアトリエが集中していて、M50のようなバリバリの観光地というよりも知る人が知っている場所のような印象を受けました。

これが、入り口です。

入ってすぐ左らへんい鳥本さんのオフィスがあります。

office339には大きな絵がありました。

この時初めて知ったのが、日本でサイズを表すのに使う号とは日本だけのようです。

一緒にパシャリ。

威海路696の中は、いたるところにクリエイティグな雰囲気を感じさせてくれます。

たまたまオープン直前のドイツ人ギャラリーにもお邪魔させていただきました。

翌日レセプションだったそうですが、北京に出発するため無念。。

帰ろうとしていたら、Vougueの撮影をやってました。

全然報告でもないのですが、もし興味あったら直接お話します。

結論は、日本人アーティストは世界で自分を売り込む手段をもっと身につけるべきであり、

大学もアーティストとして食べていけるような方法まで教授するべきですね。

もう一方のデザイン視察ですが、日系のデザイン会社を訪問させていただきました。

一つ大きな驚きは、デザイン費用の高騰。。。

上海というよりも、中国というと多くの方が人件費が安く、大量に生産できると感じていると思います。実は、僕もその一人でした。

一方、中国における上海などの沿岸部の人件費が高騰していくことにより、

ベトナムやインドネシアなどに従来の移行しているようです。

実は、デザイン業界も価格が急速に高騰しているようです。

純粋な現地企業とは別ですが、1Pあたりのカタログなどのデザイン費用は

かなり高騰していて、日本と同じような気がします。

つまり、人件費は安いのに、デザイン費用は高い。

そして、物価の高騰がおきているようです。

中国は、生活レベルを落とせば楽に暮らすことが出来ますが、日本と同じような生活を望めば

日本以上のお金を稼がなくてはいけないようです。

上海の今後はいろんな意見がありますが。

僕は楽しみにしています。

上海通信vol.1／Shanghai News vol.1

4年に一度のワールドカップ開催で
多くの方が南アフリカに足を運んでおりますが、
僕は、上海に行ってみました。

Since FIFA World Cup 2010 has been hold, a large number of people tend to go to South Africa recently, however, I picked up Shanghai.

上海万博も目的の一つですが、
アートやデザイン会社の総経理の方々との情報交換や視察が目的でありました。
上海通信vol.1は、全体的なこと記します。

One of the reasons was their international exposition, however, it was also for exchanging information with Chinese art and design corporations to see the current creative fields in China.
This time on the Shanghai News vol.1, I am going to talk about overall impressions and thoughts from this Shanghai trip.

１月にも上海に行ってきたばかりでしたが、
半年でこんなにも変化するのか・・・というほど
中国におけるスピードの違いに衝撃を受けております。

I just visited Shanghai this January, but they have been changed so much since I left, and also it was very shocking to see how fast it happened..


上海という街には「成り上がってやろう」という意識が
人、街、建築物、広告、クラブなど至る場所から感じることができます。
上海万博の前は、中国政府的に隠したい部分の隠蔽に工事などが盛んにおこなわれておりました。街行く人の態度は相変わらずですが、実際随分キレイになったのではと感じました。

The city is filled with liveliness, and I also felt their high-motivation from everywhere and everything from people, towns, buildings, advertisements and clubs.
Before the international exposition in Shanghai, Chinese government was very busy for reconstructions of the city. People there were still the same but the city view got very organized and clean now.

北京五輪、上海万博という流れは、中国における自信になっていると思います。
日本も東京五輪、大阪万博という流れげ経済成長の中で通過しております。

As Japan experienced the Tokyo Olympic and Osaka international exposition before, China also has been going through those Beijing Olympic and Shanghai international exposition. Those large-scaled international events surely became solid confidence and motivation to China.

多くは語りませんが、このままだと日本はヤバイのではないかということが確信に変わりました。現地で中国人、日本人駐在員、会社経営者、飲み屋の姉ちゃんなどいろんな方を話しましたが終始中国の今後や、日本の今後についてお話をしておりました。

I am not going to mention this too deeply but now after seeing Shanghai, I am convinced of the fact that Japan is under the serious situation. Having been there, I talked to various people like the Chinese, Japanese resident officials, corporation managers and girls from bars,etc. Their common attitude seen there was that everyone has a great interests in the future development of China and Japan.

細かなデータや分析などは書を読めばわかるかもしれません。
肌で感じたのは、人の「眼差し」「上昇志向」などの違いが大きくあるのではと思います。
大切なのは、ホームレスから政治家まで仕事における横軸と縦軸の幅広い年齢の方とお会いし、多方面から話を聞くことですが、最後には、統計やデータなどではなく、「空気感」「体感すること」がとても大事。つまり、「自分の鳥肌を信じる」ということですね。

It is easy to see how China has been changed if you look at the data, however, what I felt while I was there was a huge difference of people's "eyes" and "motivations" to develop. It is very important to talk to various ranges of people from the homeless to politicians to see the country, however, what you really should focus is to "feel their atmosphere" and to "trust your goosebumps".

修学旅行はロサンゼルスや京都とか行かず、上海やアジアに行くべきです。

Los Angels or Kyoto are very common places for Japanese school excursions, however, I think they should go to see Shanghai or other Asian countries.

日本人の多くが毎日下を向いて歩いているのが気になりますし、社内外でもスッキリしないなんとなくネトネトしたような空気感を感じております。

Everyday, I see a lot of Japanese people looking down while they are walking, and also the dull atmosphere everywhere irritates me.

その辺損得勘定がベースの中国は究極の資本主義であり、日本は社会主義のような・・・

In terms of this point, China can be the ultimate capitalistic country and Japan seems to be like socialism... Because in China, everything is based on loss and gain.

えー。
6月は講義が10本以上もあり、日々の業務との兼ね合いから時間の使い方を意識し始め、朝方の可能性に勝手に舞い上がっております。
Good morning.

Well..during June I got more than 10 lectures to give, and also since I spend most of my time for business usually, I started to be more conscious how to use my time in the morning and its potential.

最近、5時半に目を覚ましてしまい、朝食をしっかり摂る生活ですね。最近朝方という事もあり、英語や中国語や体力トレーニングなども復活させようかと思い、とりあえず、ブログを日本語と英語で無駄に書いていこうかと・・・・いつかは、中国語で・・・

Recently I tend to wake up at 5:30 in the morning having a good breakfast. Since I have more time in the morning, I was thinking to make good use of it for my skill like studying English, Chinese and doing exercises. So as the first step, I started writing my blog both in English and Japanese....someday I will try in Chinese..

女子美術大学では、定期的にお伺いさせていたき講義をさせてもらっているのですが、前回も紹介した、アドビの期間限定ギャラリー「station 5」でのトークセッションについてです。

Having chances to give regular lectures in the Joshibi University of Art and Design, I talked about a gallery talk-session held by Adobe at their limited-opened gallery before called "station 5".

全国の美術系の学生に向けたセミナー『アドビ×美ナビ presents 実践! 作品を「活かす」ポートフォリオ Fine art編』「活かす」ポートフォリオ Creative編』を開催させていただきました。
セミナーでは、ポートフォリオの概念や就職活動についてのトークセッションを一緒にさせていただきました。
そして、武蔵野美術大学の吉田君とアドビ システムズ 教育マーケット営業部 宮岸尉子さんと一緒に写真を撮影していただきました。

I opened a seminar "Adobe x Binavi presents-Portfolio for Fine Art/ the Creative-making full use of your artworks! "targeting all the art students in Japan. During the seminar, I also gave a lecture about the concept of portfolio and job hunting for them.

The portfolio that Yoshida showed to me was professionally completed as a book being based on his rich editorial experiences from college.
